Community, Innovation, and Partnership: Universal Beauty’s Year-End Reflections
As we approach the end of the year, I want to take a moment to reflect on Universal Beauty Products’ incredible journey and express my heartfelt gratitude for being part of an amazing company and team. This year has been about innovation, connection, empowerment, and execution. From launching our new product lines to expanding our community initiatives, we’ve embraced creativity and collaboration every step of the way. Our innovation has been one of the standout moments that has defined our journey this year.
We are pleased to announce, Everything Oil – with our two key brands, Van der Hagen and Beard Guyz, coming together to develop a unique oil that serves all shaving and beard care needs. An oil developed for EVERYTHING the man needs! Beard Guyz Black Edition Oils is launching three premium scented beard care oils. Simple, sophisticated, and nourishing. Available in Forest Blend, Smooth Whiskey, and Spiced Vanilla scents. We have added a scented category to our Shave Butter line, Whiskey Tobacco, Vanilla Oak, and Fresh Eucalyptus. During Q4’25 Van der Hagen will also introduce a NEW Safety Razor “The V Razor”, built with electroplated chrome. This ideally balanced, non-slip handle provides total comfort & control—proprietary design and functionality for a perfect shave. Also, with our Lady Vanderhagen line, we will be launching a Scented Sugar Scrub and Ingrown Hair Serum available in Q1 2025.
In the community, experiencing the excitement of our Barbershop takeovers; this summer, Beard Guyz has been transforming barbershops throughout the Chicagoland area, creating unforgettable moments packed with rewards and surprises for the community. We also participated in NASCAR Chicago – the second edition with both Van der Hagen and Beard Guyz appearing with racing drivers Daniel Suárez and Kyle Weatherman. A day full of adrenaline and speed. We are also thrilled to announce our new partnership with Beard Guyz and the Chicago Wolves (AHL)! It will be a season full of fun things for the fans!
COSMOPROF Las Vegas 2024 – We had an incredible opportunity to present Universal Beauty Products’ (UBP) entire portfolio and brands at COSMOPROF Vegas 2024. The three days were packed with meetings and the unveiling of our latest products, as we proudly celebrated 31 years of Jamaican Mango & Lime. We showcased our new packaging, which now features color-coded categories for Locs, Braids, and Smooth Moisture, all set to launch in Q4 2024. We also introduced the PRO GROW & FLOW and FREE YOUR CURLS lines, scheduled for release in Q1 2025.
A key addition to our Locs line is the launch of Loc Unloc, a revolutionary product designed to safely take down locs without damage, leaving hair healthy and free from breakage.
This year, Universal Beauty Products established National Loc Day, celebrated for the first time on August 16. This day honors the rich culture, diversity, and heritage that defines the loc lifestyle. Going forward, it will be an annual celebration that highlights the beauty and history of locs, while reinforcing our 31-year commitment to providing trusted products that support every stage of the loc journey.
We were also honored to participate in New York Fashion Week’s Texture Hair on the Runway event and proud to be beauty partner with the WNBA Chicago Sky team.
This November, we’ll be taking Jamaican Mango & Lime and Salon Pro 30sec to Africa, where we’ll be showcasing our products on an exciting new stage.
Looking ahead to the new year, I am filled with enthusiasm for the opportunities on the horizon. Let’s continue to push boundaries, inspire, and elevate our mission of beauty and empowerment.
